New City Kids
Partnering with Parents to Raise Children who Love Jesus
The children’s ministry at New City is designed to encourage the next generation to choose Jesus everyday and experience the abundant life He came to give. Each Sunday, your child will learn the Bible and how it relates to Jesus in an age-appropriate way. The lessons are fun and approachable, and taught by committed volunteers and staff who serve Jesus by serving you and your kids.
For your little ones, infants through 4th grade, we have interactive worship and hands-on lessons at all of our services.
New City Students
New City Student Ministries is committed to building a culture of belonging. We believe when students find a place of acceptance they begin to move forward in discovering who Jesus is and the life Jesus created them to live. Within a culture of belonging students begin to flourish in relationship with Jesus.
Our Middle School Ministry (5th-8th) meets during our 10:00 & 11:30a services on Sunday and our High School Ministry (9th-12th) meets Sunday nights at 5:30p*.
*During the summer (through July 2018) we will meet every other week on Sunday evenings at the home of one of our leaders. Please email Kendall Dooley for more information.
Don’t get Lost in the Crowd
Yes, New City is bustling with hundreds of people in each of our multiple services each Sunday. But church is more than a service. New City Community Groups are small gatherings of people who are learning to be like Jesus. We ask all of our groups to be built around five core principles that we see in the Scripture: caring for each other, studying with each other, praying with each other, eating with each other, and serving with each other.
We call these community groups—they’re the heart of our church. They’re the way we grow smaller in the midst of all the hustle and bustle, and the only way to not get lost in the crowd.
New City Studio
New City Studio exists to serve and flourish the arts scene of downtown Phoenix. Strategically located on Central Ave in the heart of the Central Arts District, we make a point of promoting local art and artists across as many mediums as we can support (visual art, sculpture, music, etc.)
The gallery space is used for events far and wide, from art shows to weddings, but our most intentional and consistent use is on First Fridays and Third Fridays, coinciding with the city’s Art Walk. This is our best opportunity to promote artists and help thrive the arts scene of our city. For more info, visit our website.
Hustle Phoenix is a strategic partner that truly embodies the live, work, study, play vision that is unique to our New City culture and one of the ministries we support through the Flourish Campaign.
Motivated by Christian faith, Hustle Phoenix encourages the creation of sustainable business ventures that affirm the dignity of people and lead to the flourishing of all communities in Phoenix.
Starting new churches has proven to be the most effective tool for reaching people with the message of Jesus. That should come as no surprise since the church is God’s bride and His chosen instrument to spread the Good News around the world.
Since starting New City we have invested in church planting significantly through our partnership with the Orchard Group, the organization that helped us get our start in 2011. The Orchard Group plants churches in hard to reach urban environments all over the globe, recently announcing an initiative to plant churches in Cape Town, Lagos (Nigeria), Paris, Tokyo, Delhi and others!
In the coming years, we will invest heavily in international church planting and continue our investment in Redemption San Francisco (a church we helped start in 2013) and other local to Phoenix church planting efforts.
Foster & Adoption
New City Foster & Adoption Ministry seeks to glorify God by providing support and encouragement to children, families, and workers involved in the foster care and adoption system.
New City Church offers pastoral counseling on a case-by-case basis but also refers those seeking on-going counseling to other counselors.
The Phoenix Counseling Collective
The Phoenix Counseling Collective is a group of counselors and consultants who are rooted in the city of Phoenix and committed to walking alongside others to know their story, come face to face with their humanity, and grow as persons. Our hope is that as we work together that you will live life more deeply, experience greater freedom, and make choices that authentically connect with how you were made. To do this we help you uncover the connections between where you have been and today’s struggles, unpack the impact of the past and current relationships, and explore your engagement with God.
