What to Expect

Showing up to a church for the first time can be intimidating, but New City really isn’t that scary (unless it’s Halloween). After a few “how ya doins,” hand shakes, and high fives, you’ll feel like you’ve been there for years. Here’s what you can expect the first time around.

  • Welcome and What to Expect
In the quick little clip to the left, Pastor Brian Kruckenberg provides a brief welcome message and tells you a little about what to expect.
  • Getting to New City:
New City Gathers at 4331 N Central Avenue in Phoenix on the east side of Central near the Campbell and Central light rail stop. If you’re driving south on Central, you will pass the church and make a U-turn at Glenrosa. Your best bet for parking is the lot just north of the church. (Look for the signs and people waving.) New City is also located right across the tracks from Lux Coffeebar, so grab a cup and head over.
  • The Service:
New City offers two Sunday service times: 9:30am for the early risers and 11am if you need your beauty sleep. The service typically begins with worship followed by teaching and communion. At the end of each service, enjoy munching on finger foods and meeting future lunch companions.
  • Bringing Your Kids:
The rooms at New City are broken up by age: nursery, walkers, 2/3s, 4/5s, and K-5th graders. New City uses the check-in software, “Kidcheck,” to keep your little ones safe. You may arrive a few minutes early to set up your child’s profile, or you can even do it online right now. Upon check-in, two labels print. Your bambino gets one on their back, and you can display your label in whichever fashion you choose.
