Frequently Asked Questions

Visiting somewhere new can bring up questions. Here’s what you need to know before you arrive, so you can feel right at home.

We have two identical services every Sunday at 9:00 and 10:30 am.

New City Church is in the heart of downtown at 1300 N Central Ave, Phoenix, AZ 85004. We’re just south of McDowell Rd and right across the street from Margaret T Hance Park.

We’ve set aside parking in our lot for first-time guests and families. Additional parking is available across the street at Burton Barr Library and next to Margaret T. Hance Park.

You can expect a casual atmosphere where everyone feels at home—come as you are, whether that’s in jeans or dressed up. Enjoy complimentary Press Coffee and tea in the lobby, creating a warm and welcoming space to connect.

Our services typically last about an hour. Each one begins with worship led by a live band, followed by teaching from the Bible and communion. Pastors are also available between services—whether for prayer or simply to say hello.

We believe that God places a high value on the teaching of His Word, and that it must be done with ultimate care and intentionality. Our desire is to remain faithful to the text of the Scripture and speak the truth in a way that our culture can accurately understand and apply it. In doing so, it is our goal to always use the The Gospel, not religion, to “solve the problem.” We address core issues of sin and disobedience, but always provide hope through Jesus who has already overcome that sin. We strive to include non-believers by respecting doubts, including them explicitly, not being overly “emotive” and using illustrations and examples that show a respect and knowledge of the culture.

Our kid’s ministry offers age-appropriate programming for birth through elementary school during both of our services (9:00 & 10:30 am). Our team creates a safe and welcoming space where children can build a strong, biblical foundation. If it’s your first time, we’ll help you set up an account to check in your family.

We also have weekly services for students: Middle School meets Sundays at 9:00 am, and High School meets Sundays at 6:00 pm.
