Service Times

We have three Sunday service times: 8:30a10:00a & 11:30a. Each service begins with worship followed by teaching, and communion. At the end of each service, there’s always time for getting prayer for personal needs and meeting future lunch companions.

Location

New City is located in the heart of Downtown Phoenix at 1300 N. Central Avenue on the northwest side of Central and Culver. We’re just south of McDowell Rd and right across the street from Margaret T Hance/Deck Park, and there’s plenty of parking on-site.

Teaching

For the word of God is living and active and sharper than any two-edged sword, and piercing as far as the division of soul and spirit, of both joints and marrow, and able to judge the thoughts and intentions of the heart. Hebrews 4:12

We believe that God places such a high value on the teaching of His Word that it must be done with ultimate care and intentionality. Our desire is to remain faithful to the text of the Scripture and speak the truth in a way that our culture can accurately understand and apply it. In doing so, it is our goal to always use the The Gospel, not religion, to “solve the problem.”

This means we get at the core issues of sin and disobedience, but always provide hope through Jesus who has already overcome that sin. Finally, we strive to include non-believers by respecting doubts, including them explicitly, not being overly “emotive” and using illustrations and examples that show a respect and knowledge of the culture.

Music

The highest value of worship at New City is “authenticity.” Whether that worship is singing, or in all the other aspects of our lives, we know that God desires an open, humble and repentant heart. Our music is part of the way in which we prepare our hearts and minds to hear the word and to respond to that word. Also, as part of our worship, after service we take communion together and give offerings to support God’s work at New City. All in all, the atmosphere is casual, reflective, and open to all.

New City Kids

Partnering with Parents to Raise Children Who Take the Gospel of Jesus to Places They Live, Work, Study, and PLAY.

New City Kids is a ministry for children from birth through fourth grade. We desire to create a safe and welcome environment for your children while setting a solid, biblical foundation. We strive to consistently engage your kids through stories and activities designed specifically with each age group in mind.

First-Time Guests

Welcome! We are so excited to have your family join us. To ensure a smooth introduction, we ask that you arrive at least 10 minutes early. This will allow us to help you register your child into New City’s check-in system and get them situated into their age appropriate class.

Safety

Your child’s safety is important to us! That’s why we use secure check-in software that assigns each child a unique number. Only parents or guardians with the corresponding number/receipt are permitted to check out the child. Every member of the New City Kids team has been carefully trained and background checked before serving in our classrooms.

Meet the Pastors & Staff

Have a burning question about something you heard in the sermon? Love the message so much that you feel compelled to high five the preacher? Not a problem, after each service—for at least 10 minutes—you’ll always have the opportunity to meet the pastors, ask questions, or just get prayer with people who care and are ready to talk to Jesus on your behalf.

And if you can’t wait ’til Sunday, check out our team bios and get to know the pastors and staff a bit better in the meantime.
