I’m New
New City began in 2011 with a mission to intersect the message of Jesus with the people who made up the diverse neighborhoods that surround us. Eventually we honed that into the statement that now defines who we are and what we do: New City exists to make disciples who take the message of Jesus to the places we live, work, study, and play.
We pray that God might be drawing you here to be a part of that mission.
SUNDAY EXPERIENCE
Our Sunday experience is casual and open to all. We value authenticity and strive to honor God with a humble and repentant heart. Fill out the form below, and we’ll send over everything you need to feel prepared and welcomed. We look forward to seeing you soon at our 9:00 or 10:30 am service!
FAQ’S:
Where are you located?
New City Church is in the heart of downtown at 1300 N Central Ave, Phoenix, AZ 85004. We’re just south of McDowell Rd and right across the street from Margaret T Hance Park.
Where can I park?
We have a parking lot available, but we would love to reserve those spots for families and first-time guests, if possible. Additional parking is available across the street at the Burton Barr Library, as well as street parking next to Margaret T. Hance Park.
What is included in your services?
Our services typically last an hour. Each service begins with worship, and then is followed by teaching and communion. Our pastors are also available for individual prayer between services.
What is your teaching like?
We believe that God places a high value on the teaching of His Word, and that it must be done with ultimate care and intentionality. Our desire is to remain faithful to the text of the Scripture and speak the truth in a way that our culture can accurately understand and apply it. In doing so, it is our goal to always use the The Gospel, not religion, to “solve the problem.”
We address core issues of sin and disobedience, but always provide hope through Jesus who has already overcome that sin. We strive to include non-believers by respecting doubts, including them explicitly, not being overly “emotive” and using illustrations and examples that show a respect and knowledge of the culture.
What do you offer for kids?
Our kid’s ministry has age-appropriate programming for birth through elementary school during all of our services (9:00 & 10:30 am). Our kid’s team works to create a safe and welcoming environment for your children while setting a solid, biblical foundation. The first time you visit, our kid’s team will help you set up an account to check in your family.
Where do students go?
Middle schoolers and high schoolers are part of our youth ministry, which strives to give students a place of acceptance to learn about Jesus. Both groups meet at 6:00 pm every Sunday.
